Growing up in the 60s, traveling all over the country as an Army child had its charms and tribulations. There was never a dull moment. New towns, new schools, new friends……

When I decided to write, both my parents encouraged me and if I’ve reached anywhere today, it is thanks to their constant support. Fortunately, that support continued even after marriage and it was easy to carry on writing.

Over the years, writing has given me an identity and an opportunity to meet a large cross section of people. I have learnt from every one of them. One doesn’t always get a chance to thank them but I’d like them to know that they’ve touched my life in innumerable ways….(this section is still ‘under construction’ as there are too many photographs that need to be put here….!!!

  Maharani Gayatri Devi
One of my favourite photographs of the legendary Rajmata Gayatri Devi.

    Maharaja Gaj Singh
HH Maharaja Gaj Singh ji of Jodhpur at a party in Clarks Amer. I admire Bapji for his commitment to social causes. He is a true Maharaja and I love working with him in INTACH.

  Hon’able Chief Minister
At a workshop titled Jaipur Future Search Vision 2020. I got a chance to interact with the Hon’able Chief Minister of Rajasthan and the Tourism Minister Usha Punia.

    Rajmata Saheb
I love this picture…..Rajmata Saheb gave me just 10 minutes as she stepped out to leave for the stud farm. She stopped, smiled and was off…! But it turned out to be one of the best pictures that I’ve taken of her. I made this collage for a friend and ended up making countless copies as everybody loved it. Rajmata Saheb too has a copy in her study.

  Rajmata Saheb's 80th birthday
With Rajmata Saheb on her 80th birthday in Janani Deori, Jaipur

Chief Guest at Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls Public School,   Jodhpur. 22 December 2004
Out of all social engagements and commitments this is one that I avoid the most- public speaking ! I’m just not cut out for it. However, I didn’t fare too badly.

Chief Guest at Lalitya Kumari Bal Niketan Jagga ki   Baodi, Jaipur. 7 Jan 2005
This came about only because I just happened to be sitting in Rajmata Saheba’s office when she received a call asking for possible names for a chief guest. She looked at me and said, “I think you should be the Chief Guest this time.” I thought she was joking but she’d decided for me and there was no going back on that. Anyway, her word is law as far as I’m concerned so I put together a speech in Hindi and did all the things one is supposed to do on such an occasion.

Rajmata always makes an effort to accept almost all invitations extended to her. From the humble farmer to the topmost names in the country.
